Halloween is right around the corner....ALREADY!

My dad and his brother and neighbor have their pumpkin patch once again this year, and Lara and Ayla each got a pumpkin with their names carved into them.
Maybe I'll get some better pictures in a few weeks, when Ayla is better at sitting up on her own. : ) If she leans to the side at all, you can pretty much count on a face-plant.

Ayla is 6 months old already!!!!

Today was Ayla's 6 month check up. She now weighs 16 lbs 10 oz, and is 27 inches long. She is grabbing everything now and sticking whatever she can into her mouth. She really wants to crawl too, but can't seem to figure out how to move her legs the right way. She still manages to get most places that she wants to go. She's a quick roller and spins around on her tummy to change direction. : )
Okay, conservative people, look away! The girls came to my hair appointment with me this week, and the whole time Lara kept picking out a sample of blue hair, and wanted it so bad. After a while I decided to just go ahead and let her get a few blue foils. She was being good, and it washes out in a few washes. AND, IT'S ONLY HAIR. She is VERY proud of it. She wants everybody to see it. : ) And personally, I think it fits her personality real well.
I've been going tanning for an upcoming wedding that I'm in, so I'll sometimes drop the kids off at daycare for an hour, or my cousin Reid will come by after work and watch the girls for a while. One night he was here, it was his birthday, so I picked up a Dairy Queen cake. Ayla got her whole hand and arm in it while we were taking a picture and made a huge mess!
I know, the cake says "Happy Birthday Richard". It's a joke with the family.
Lara went to Angie's today and is spending the night at her house. They got a boxer puppy last week. His name is Bruiser and he is SO cute! They were also going to take her to the St. Croix Central football game tonight. I am a little jealous that she gets to go! I drove by the school before the game started and saw a lot of people walking there pulling in. It brought back memories of going to the North games. I can't wait until the kids are older and are Panthers!

Neighborhood Get-Together

Last weekend my mom took Lara down to visit her mom and sisters. She had a wonderful time, and Ayla and I met up with them in Eau Claire on Sunday in our old neighborhood. They wanted to get the kids and grandkids together. Lara played with Rachel, and Ayla was just a happy camper the whole time.

Here they are throwing apples to the mules.

Eggs & Bacon

Today we made Eggs and Bacon, Lara-style. She helped me arrange the bacon, I did the egg whites, and she did the yolks. Our big bag of m&m's didn't have very many yellow one's, so we might end up making some weird looking eggs in the near future. : )

MN State Fair

Last Monday, me, the girls, and Josh and his mom Megan all went to the Minnesota State Fair. It was a beautiful day and the kids had a blast. They went on the rides about 5 times. It was good to see Lara going on them again. She was a little scared at first, but went anyways and had fun.

They were really cute on the bumper boats. They all just kind of spun in circles for the most part.

They got to see and pet some baby farm animals. I stayed outside with Ayla because she was in her stroller and it was really crowded in there. Then we went into the butterfly garden. That was fun, the butterflies would land right on us. One landed on Ayla's face and started walking towards her eye so I had to rescue her. Aside from losing my camera case it was a really fun day and we can't wait to go again next year.

A couple pictures of Ayla

Lara and Josh

For the past couple months I have been watching a friend's son Josh once or twice a week, in the cities. He and Lara have so much fun playing together! Here are some pics of them.

Here they are "hiding" from Josh's dad.
